– July 5, 2024

Escola de Artes Mestre Fernando Rodrigues in Lagoa is featuring creations by artisans from the Algarve and the north of Portugal, in a collective exhibition entitled “Artesanato de Mãos Dadas” (Hand-in-Hand Craftsmanship), which will be on show at the Galeria Manuela Vale until July 31.

The exhibition highlights the valuable expertise transmitted across generations and is presented by the Association of Artisans of the Algarve (AAA) in collaboration with the guest Association of Artisans of the Northern Region (AARN).

“The knowledge transmitted by our ancestors lies in the different interpretations and raw materials prevalent in each region”, organisers stated.

Artisans from both associations will exhibit their handmade pieces, sharing their ancient techniques and stories in a unified representation of Portugal.

The exhibition showcases the distinctive creations of artisans and highlights the products that unite them and also set them apart.

The gallery is open from Monday to Friday, from 9.30am to 12pm and 2.30pm to 5pm. Entrance is free.
