To celebrate its 30th anniversary, LAC promises two days of vibrant activities from concerts, exhibitions, installations, workshops, to film screenings, and more
– January 16, 2024
Lagos’s cultural association LAC is celebrating its 30th anniversary with an exciting Open Day programme, taking place this January 17-18 (Friday and Saturday).
Over the course of two days, the public will have the opportunity to experience the vibrant dynamics of the centre and explore the work of resident artists, both individual and collective projects spanning visual and performing arts, with a special focus on music.
LAC’s Open Day has become a staple event every year, offering a unique location where artists and musicians come together from across the country. This year, the association promises an extraordinary programme to celebrate three decades of dedication to culture and contemporary art.
The diverse line-up of events ensures there is something for everyone, with activities including exhibitions, installations, concerts, workshops, film screenings, and other free activities.
“This commemorative edition will be a milestone for the association, reflecting its trajectory and impact on the artistic and cultural community,” says LAC.
Founded in 1995 and based in Lagos’s former jail, LAC is a cultural association that plays a significant role in the fields of creation, offering artist residencies, organizing national and international exhibitions, concerts, and conferences as well as training and hosting workshops for both the general community and schools.
The LAC Open Day events are free to attend.
