Every year, the Portimão Arena shines with the elegance of rhythmic gymnastics, and this year is no exception. The 6th edition of the CIRM Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament promises a spectacular event for the whole family to enjoy after the festive season, free to attend.
Organised by the non-profit organisation Clube de Instrução e Recreio Mexilhoeirense (CIRM), based in Portimão, the tournament will welcome 200 national competitive athletes from various clubs across the country, including Madeira and Azores.
The tournament begins on Saturday, January 11, at 9am, featuring the younger athletes. This will be followed by CIRM showcases and a lunch break after 1.30pm. After lunch, at 2.20pm, the older categories (ages 13 and above) will compete, culminating with the senior categories at 5.50pm. The day’s events will conclude at 7.50pm with the award ceremonies.
On Sunday, January 12, the event will start at 9am, once again with the younger athletes, followed by a break at 1.25pm for lunch. Competitions will resume at 2.20pm with the senior athletes in the 2nd division, ending at 6.40pm with the tournament’s final ceremonies.
CIRM was founded in 1950 with the aim of promoting and organising cultural, sporting, and recreational activities for the general public and its members.
