– July 15, 2024

The Algarve International Autodrome (AIA) in Portimão will welcome the seventh round of the World Superbike Championship between August 9 (Friday) and August 11 (Sunday), promising three days of heart-pounding action.

Organisers have revealed a completely new programme for the event. All track activities will take place after 12pm, leaving “open space for multiple fan-targeted activities”.

In a statement to the press, the racetrack stated: “We want this to truly be a party, a celebration of the WorldSBK in the year that the Algarve International Autodrome celebrates its 15th anniversary. That is why we are preparing, together with the organiser of the championship, a series of moments both inside and outside the paddock for motorcycling lovers to experience something totally different, with many activities aimed at fans who travel to the circuit.”

This competition was the first motorsports event to take place at the track after it opened in 2008, making it a special one for the racetrack.

“The WorldSBK has always been a part of the AIA, and in such a special year for us, we want to celebrate together with everyone who visits us,” the racetrack added.

The main event on Sunday starts at €20 per person, while the entire weekend of activities starts at €25 per person. The tickets can be purchased online.

With six races completed and one still to go – Czech Round (July 19-21) –, the Pirelli Portuguese Round will be the seventh stage of the Superbike season.
